Your Easter Landing Page Checklist

Easter is coming! And with it is the incredible opportunity to welcome people to your church for the first time! In the coming weeks, your church website should be prepped and ready for someone who has never visited your church.

Here is a quick checklist of what needs to be on your Easter landing page so first time guests can feel at ease and welcome.

  • First—make sure you have one! Yes, have a dedicated landing page on your website that is basically “Visiting us for Easter? Here’s everything you need to know all in one place.”

  • Make the URL easy to remember—something like yourchurch.org/Easter. That way people can easily recall the URL and share it with friends/coworkers/neighbors.

  • Think about what it’s like to be a first-time guest. What would you want to know in advance to ensure it’s a smooth first-time experience? Here are 6 things to include:

    • Parking info. Where do you park? Include a parking map.

    • Address (seriously)

    • Times & dates of services. Put these front and center on the page. Don’t make people hunt.

    • Information for the kids. Where is child drop off? What is the programming like? What security measures are in place? How do you register a kid? Ease any nerves by over communicating here.

    • Accessibility information for people with disabilities. Think deaf, blind, sensory sensitivity, and how to move through the building if you’re a person with physical limitations. (On that note: make sure your space is ready for people of all physical capabilities.)

    • A contact person (ideally, a human being, not a generic email address) for any questions! Even better if it can be a number to text as well as an email address.

In short, when it comes to welcoming new folks on Easter, make it incredibly easy for them. Less friction means more people coming and hearing the Good News of the Gospel.
